An all-American program that celebrates the rich musical history of our country, past and present. Members of the Boise Phil Youth Orchestra take the stage in a side-by-side performance of William Grant Still’s brassy Festive Overture. Travel to the misty blue mountains of Appalachia with Jennifer Higdon’s Suite from Cold Mountain, and simmer in the deep South with Florence Price’s stunning Piano Concerto. Then, it’s a snappy, jazzy jaunt to New York City with Gershwin’s famous Rhapsody in Blue, which he once called “a musical kaleidoscope of America.” Matinee and evening shows.
