The Boise Museum Association will be hosting its annual International Museum Day event on Sunday, May 22 from Noon – 4:00 pm. People of all ages are invited to Boise’s Basque Block at 611 Grove Street to sample activities and displays from fourteen of Boise’s museums. The event is free, as is the admission to the Basque Museum and Cultural Center for the day.
Activities include creating art with Boise Art Museum and the James Castle House, digging for dinosaurs with the Discovery Center of Idaho, exploring rocks and fossils with the Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology, viewing live raptors brought by the World Center for Birds of Prey, and participating in nature activities by Zoo Boise and the MK Nature Center. Additional museums providing displays and activities include the Idaho Botanical Gardens, Idaho Black History Museum, Boise WaterShed, Idaho State Museum, Old Idaho Penitentiary, and the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights.
Food and beverage will be available to purchase at nearby Basque Block restaurants. Live music and entertainment provided by Txantxangorriak and Oinkari Basque Dancers.
