Part of my family’s pinball life. If you own machines, they have to be cleaned regularly. Dust and debris can damage the play field and in this case, one of the “toys” on the game. KISS from Stern Pinball, 2015. I polished Gene Simmons’ tongue with a little Naphtha. To “lock” balls for multiball, you shoot into the area just below his tongue, and then the ball comes out of his mouth and rolls down his tongue. The ball carries grime that gets stuck on his tongue.
The play field also got some polishing with Novus 2. Can you see the difference? “Before” is the first pic.
In both cleanings, a microfiber cloth was used to clear the grime. Other products we use when cleaning pinball machines: rubbing alcohol, cotton swabs, toothbrushes, magic erasers (very carefully) and glass cleaner.
KISS is part of the collection at our pinball clubhouse museum in Garden City called Ugly Gold Couch. Someday, it will be open to the public again. Dang COVID.
